Synopsis: The Action opening of the film takes place after the battle scene. “The Woman King” plot can be confusing at times. But its excess fulfills the blockbuster goals of the film. A defiant teenager, Navi, is presented as a gift by her domineering father to the young King Gozo. Joe is dismayed by his stubborn daughter’s refusal to marry her multiple lovers. And now though, it is never made for the king. Because the stoic yet fun warrior Izogi is a phenomenal Lashana Lynch. Navi’s resistance is seen as a force to be reckoned with. and involves her in Naniska’s training. And being part of Agozi promises freedom to everyone involved. But not for the people she is about to conquer. The defeated are offered as a tribute to the harsh Oyo Empire. who then offer their fellow Africans as slaves to Europeans in exchange for guns. It is a cycle of oppression. Which the crime-ridden Naniska wants. And that the king breaks down. Meanwhile, a dream haunts Naniska and the disobedient Nava. Which happens to be some strict requirements of the Agozi clan. The subplots of “The Woman King” may have undone this for some. But the magnitude and awe that this film inspires.
