Synopsis: Minions: The Rise of Gru will lower adult IQ points in a seventies origin story that struggles mightily to fill ninety minutes. Large action sequences are sprinkled around a thin narrative. The film takes place in 1975 with an eleven and three-quarter gru dreaming of becoming a supervillain. He idolizes Wild Knuckles. Joe’s a Vicious Six’s, butt-kicking geyser leader. Little does Gru know that Wild Knuckles has been ejected by Belle Bottom. When the group stole the legendary Zodiac Stone medallion. Gru is excited to receive an interview to join Vicious Six. He applauds the minion who built his first evil lair. But he thinks they might be holding him back. When Gru shows up next, the Vicious Six laughs at himself foolishly. Because he’s still a child. When Gru snatches the zodiac stone from him. So his tune changes. Gru and his loyal minions give chase, pelting stones through the streets of the city. Gru Rotund gives Otto a medal to hide. which he immediately loses. Gru’s anger turns to hero worship when he is kidnapped by the Wild Knuckles.
