Synopsis: Beginning to film production, Vengeance attempts to use a young woman’s death as a springboard to fame. Playing the lead role, Novak conveys some smuggling and opportunism on screen. Which is often found when the media turns its attention to rural America. But the film is not completely free from character flaws. Moments of insight or sympathy struggle to notice above the script’s false notes and disjointed comments. Mild fishy-out-of-water humor and an element of mystery may satisfy fans of Novak’s work on the popular The Office yet again. But it falls short of proving it. That he has a lot of potential as a big screenwriter. A Texas girl named Abilene Shaw slept with Ben twice while in NYC. And back home he talked about how his family believed they were a couple. When she dies, her heartbroken brother Ty calls Ben to report the news. The conversation gets so awkward. that Ben gets ready to fly to the funeral. At an undisclosed oil field in far west Texas, Ben learns that Ty is convinced. That the fatal overdose of his sister was murder. He never touched so much as an Advil, we hear so many times. who had done it. Eloise agrees. And the city soon adjusts to seeing an outsider walking around with a digital recorder in his hand.
