Synopsis: The movie “The Good Nurse 2022” is a good example of this trend. It’s a creepy, tense story. How a nurse named Amy Loughran (Jessica Chastain) helps New Jersey detectives find the worst serial killer in history. And Charles Cullen (Eddie Redmayne) is shown working as a nurse in nine hospitals over 16 years and no one knows how many patients he has killed. He didn’t even remember them all. The number quoted at the end of the film, Chilling Happens. The film is about the systemic failure of the American hospital system. Either for self-checking or self-regulation. That’s how calculus would have been able to kill in so many hospitals. And hospitals would have kept each other in the dark for fear of lawsuits. Director Tobias Lindholm also keeps us in the dark as a symbolic way of understanding the problem. Lindholm is Danish and more experienced as a writer than a director. He directed two episodes of the Mindhunter series. But other than that, it happens to be their first feature in America. He brings a strong European sensibility. And The Good Nurse feels more like a European art film than an American political thriller.
