Synopsis: In preparation for the summer of 1991, A.J. and Moose, two 14-year-olds from Nebraska, are excited to make money by selling their homemade beer to the community. However, their plans take a different turn when they decide to run a snack shack at the local pool instead. Using their persuasive skills, they gather supplies and hope for a large crowd. A.J., who has strict parents named Judge and Judy, feels pessimistic about his future. However, his neighbor’s cousin, Brooke, arrives and shows immediate interest in him, providing a much-needed distraction. Additionally, A.J.’s older friend Shane fills his head with dreams of an Alaska trip in the summer of 1992. As the weeks go by, A.J. and Moose face challenges from bullies and encounter various misadventures. However, their friendship is put to the test when A.J. struggles to express his feelings for Brooke, allowing Moose to step in with his charms. While the movie may lack subtlety and focus more on extremes, it offers an intriguing exploration of the determination of two kids trying to make a fortune by any means possible.
