Synopsis: The movie “Roseline” features a fresh and comical twist on Shakespeare’s classic love story “Romeo and Juliet”. Which is told from the point of view of Juliet’s cousin Roslyn (Caitlyn Dever). Joe also happens to be Romeo’s recent love interest. And his heart breaks. And when Romeo (Kyle Allen) meets Juliet (Isabella Merced). and starts following him. That’s when Rosaline hatches a plan to sabotage the famous romance and win her boy back. Director Karen Main also made beautiful films. And that would have been shot in beautifully appointed villas with gorgeous locations. Which is usually one of Shakespeare’s tragedies. And which also underlines Sunni. And the rich visuals are accentuated by a foamy score co-composed by Ian Hultquist and Drum & Lace. Dever is also kinder to her suitors, Dario, and Merced when on her own and more suited to the mound. But the equally clever Juliet makes for a great visual partner. So both shine. And apart from this, Dever gets to show his humorous glimpse. As her character becomes more and more amazed and good at the ridiculous plans of Romeo and Juliet’s dramatic grand romantic gestures.
