Synopsis: Shown in movies, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 believes you remember most of its predecessor’s 2020 beats from the movies. However, the film functions well on its own, following a now-bald and significantly more unstable Dr. Robotnik, who has become obsessed with eliminating Sonic following their last battle. It is shown in the next scene that, Robotnik has been torn apart from his sole true buddy, Agent Stone, unlike Sonic, who found his chosen family in Green Hills sheriff Tom Wachowski and his veterinarian wife Maddie. He was then stranded on a faraway world populated solely by mushrooms. Though Robotnik tells himself that his desire for vengeance motivates him to persevere and continue building things in his isolated kingdom of mushrooms, Sonic 2 makes it apparent that Robotnik’s loneliness is also a major motivation – not just in this predicament, but throughout his life. Despite his desire to take the page for himself, Robotnik reunites with his employee Stone and offers to support Knuckles in his quest. Sonic and Tales travel from Long-claw to Siberia in search of Sonic’s deceased customers. They find a compass inside an ancient temple. Robotnik and Knuckles follow Sonic and Tales down the mountain. Robotics and Knuckles steal the compass during a snowstorm. By teleporting to the wedding with a ring, Tom saves Sonic and Tails.
