Synopsis: Izi is a resident of The Kitchen, a social housing block that’s the last to remain in a rapidly gentrifying part of London. He maintains distance from the community, keeping his eyes on a future move to Buena Vida, getting out of The Kitchen for good. Izi works at Life After Life, a funeral home with a botanical option, soon meeting Benji, a young teen who’s just lost his mother, Toni, now left on his own in The Kitchen. Izi knew Toni some time ago, trying to comfort Benji, realizing that the boy is left to dangerous influences around the apartment block, with Staples the leader of a motorcycle gang specializing in theft. Offering Benji a place to stay for a few nights, Izi begins to bond with the child, becoming a father figure, which frightens him. As police raids increase in The Kitchen, Izi feels the urgency to escape, facing a future of stability in Buena Vida, which means leaving Benji behind for Staples to groom into one of his own.
